Poetry Out Loud Competition at Sierraville School on Jan. 15, 2020

An initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts, administered statewide by the California Arts Council, Poetry Out Loud encourages high school students to learn about poetry through memorization, performance, and competition. The Sierra County Arts Council, for the second consecutive year, is sponsoring the Sierra County competition on January 15, 2020 at Sierraville School at 6:00 pm.  Sierra County winners receive cash prizes and will compete in the Poetry Out Loud California State Finals in Sacramento on March 15th and 16th.  All Sierra County high school students are encouraged to participate.  The Sierra County Finals Competition is open to the public.  All who attend should note that audio recording and photography is not allowed during the competition.  For more information please contact Sierra County Poetry Out Loud Coordinator Paul Guffin, email: paul@guffin.net or phone: 530 289 2751.
