Ancient Future Music at the Kentucky Mine, Sierra City, September 1, 2019

Ancient Future:  Sunday, September 1st @ 3 – 5 PM

The Sierra County Arts Council awarded the Sierra County Historical Society an Art & Music Sponsorship for Ancient Future to perform at the Kentucky Mine Amphitheater as part of the Kentucky Mine’s Music at the Mine summer series.

Ancient Future “offers evocative world music imbued with graceful simplicity” and returns to the Kentucky Mine after years of touring the world. Formed in 1978, Ancient Future is the world’s first and longest running ensemble dedicated exclusively to the mission of the creation of world fusion music. Their original music is an exhilarating fusion of exciting rhythms and sounds from around the globe that combines contemporary jazz and rock with the irresistible rhythms of numerous cultures and countries. The show at the Mine is one of many as they are touring in celebration of their 40th year as a vibrant musical entity.

The Kentucky Mine is located on Hwy 49 on the east side of Sierra City, CA.  Come early and bring your own picnic!
