"B Street Theatre"The Sierra County Arts Council is pleased to present to Downieville School and Loyalton Elementary School:

Yuba Theatre, 9:45 AM, Wednesday April 12th and to
Loyalton Elementary School, 2:00 PM, April 12th.
 
Fantasy Festival 31 : the winning plays of B Street Theatre’s annual playwriting contest for kids will be performed.
 
Admission is free and the public is invited to the tour at the Yuba Theatre in Downieville.
 
For more than 30 years the mission of the B Street School Tour has been to provide entertainment to children while encouraging in them a love for the theatre and a specific appreciation for the art of playwriting. B Street Theatre performs 12 times per week, 38 weeks per year in schools, hospitals and public places reaching approximately 200,000 children annually. The performances are a great way to introduce children to live theatre by expressing the art of telling stories on stage.

  • Californians will once again have the opportunity to support the California Arts Council and its arts programs for children through their state individual tax refund. Sept. 2013, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. signed Senate Bill 571 (Senator Carol Liu, La Canada Flintridge), returning the arts to the voluntary contribution portion of California tax return forms through the new "Keep Arts in Schools Fund." Donations are tax deductible and support Arts Council programs throughout the state.
