Mumbo Gumbo Music at the Kentucky Mine, July 9th 2016

Mumbo Gumbo: Saturday, July 9th at  7:30 PM

The Sierra County Arts Council awarded the Sierra County Historical Society an Art & Music Sponsorship for Mumbo Gumbo to perform at the Kentucky Mine Amphitheater as part of the Kentucky Mine’s Music at the Mine summer program. For 22 years, Mumbo Gumbo has been performing at this unique little amphitheater that has a great dance floor surrounded by trees under the stars.

For over 25 years, Mumbo Gumbo has been one of N. California’s top groups, releasing 9 original music cds and collecting numerous “Sammie” and “Best of Sacramento” awards. The 7-piece band tours the Western United States, bringing their “genre-bending Americana” music to their many fans. Their big musical stew contains elements of soul, zydeco, folk, blues, rock, cajun, Carribean, and country all mixed into their uniquely festive roots-music sound.

The Kentucky Mine is located on Hwy 49 on the east side of Sierra City, CA.   Make a night of it and come 90 minutes early for a BBQ dinner catered by the Red Moose Cafe.

Tickets available at local outlets (see S.C. Historical Society link below) and on line: Mumbo Gumbo Tickets
