Downieville Elementary School Students Aaron Foster and Katie Epps Win B-Street Theatre Playwriting Contest:  Come see their plays performed at the Yuba Theatre in Downieville!
 
The Sierra County Arts Council is pleased to present to Downieville School and Loyalton Elementary School:
Yuba Theatre, 9:45 AM, Tuesday, March 31st and to
Loyalton Elementary School, 2:00 PM, March 31st.
 
Fantasy Festival XXIX : the winning plays of B Street Theatre’s annual playwriting contest for kids will be performed.
 
Admission is free and the public is invited to the tour at the Yuba Theatre in Downieville.
 
Founded in 1986, B Street Theatre School Tour performs 12 times per week, 38 weeks per year in schools, hospitals and public places reaching approximately 200,000 children annually. Since its inception, the School Tour has played for over three million children in Northern California. The performances are a great way to introduce children to live theater by expressing the art of telling stories on stage.

  • Californians will once again have the opportunity to support the California Arts Council and its arts programs for children through their state individual tax refund. Sept. 2013, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. signed Senate Bill 571 (Senator Carol Liu, La Canada Flintridge), returning the arts to the voluntary contribution portion of California tax return forms through the new "Keep Arts in Schools Fund." Donations are tax deductible and support Arts Council programs throughout the state.
