Jaws At The Yuba Theatre August 2, 2013

Begin the Downieville Classic bike race weekend at the Yuba Theatre on Friday at 8:00 PM to watch the 1975 classic film Jaws, co-sponsored by Santa Cruz Bicycles and the Sierra County Arts Council.

Directed by Steven Spielburg and starring Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, and Richard Dreyfuss.

There has never been a movie or a phenomenon like JAWS, the terrifying motion picture from the horrific best seller and one of the most popular films of all time. Directed by Steven Spielberg and acclaimed by critics worldwide, JAWS continues to shock moviegoers with its riveting tale of three men who become allied in a life-and-death hunt to destroy a killer embodying nearly three tons of instant white death.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Suggested donation $5.00.

  • Californians will once again have the opportunity to support the California Arts Council and its arts programs for children through their state individual tax refund. Sept. 2013, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. signed Senate Bill 571 (Senator Carol Liu, La Canada Flintridge), returning the arts to the voluntary contribution portion of California tax return forms through the new "Keep Arts in Schools Fund." Donations are tax deductible and support Arts Council programs throughout the state.
